Istanbul to host 51st OIC Council of Foreign Ministers session

The 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers will begin tomorrow in Istanbul.
Held under the theme “The OIC in a Transforming World,” the two-day meeting will take place under the chairmanship of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The session is expected to bring together a record number of top-ranking officials, including foreign ministers from more than 40 countries.
In addition to representatives from the 57 OIC member states, the event will host approximately 1,000 delegates from observer countries and international organizations.
The agenda includes discussions on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, efforts to resolve the issue based on the two-state solution, the Israel-Iran tensions, and enhancing cooperation to address challenges faced by Muslim societies.
At the conclusion of the session, participants are expected to adopt the Istanbul Declaration and approve a series of draft decisions on the OIC agenda.
Türkiye previously hosted the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers sessions in 1976, 1991, and 2004. With this session, Türkiye will assume the one-year rotating chairmanship of the Council.
