JEWISH PARLIAMENTARIANS VISITING BAKU
The visiting Jewish delegation led by deputy chairman of the Parliament of Israel Amnon Cohen met with the members of the Azerbaijani-Israeli inter-parliamentary friendship group at the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic.
Chairman of the friendship group Evda Abramov noted that similar visits serve development of relations not only between parliamentarians of countries, but also between the two nations.
As stated, today, over 20 thousand Jews live in Azerbaijan, and the state of Azerbaijan has created for them all conditions. Azerbaijan is an only country where the Jews living here for centuries, have never undergone persecution or pressure. In Israel, Mr. Abramov stressed, they should give special attention to this. “We hail the taking away from the agenda of session of the Israeli Parliament of the question connected with the so-called “genocide of Armenians”, and consider that the Jews undergone genocide, should know that Azerbaijanis have also experienced this. And not only Azerbaijanis, but also the Jews of Azerbaijan have undergone the genocide committed by Armenians. Some days ago, in the Guba region of Azerbaijan where the Jews live compactly, a place of mass burial was revealed. The Jewish community cannot remain indifferent to all these”.
Then, E. Abramov informed in detail on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and presented to the gests historical documents confirming the evil deed committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis, other materials prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
