Kazakhstan pursues talks to increase export via TITR
Baku, December 12, AZERTAC
The volume of shipments via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route has doubled to 2.5mln tons compared with 2022, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports citing Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev.
In addition, there has been a 3time rise in the export of Kazakhstani products via the route, said Karabayev.
The minister went on to say that there has been growth in the import traffic volume.
This demonstrates the interest of European companies in the route. There has been a decrease in the transit traffic in the east-west direction, mainly due to a reduced freight rate via the South maritime route. Talks are underway with the relevant bodies and companies of neighboring states to increase export via TITR, including on the issue of providing state support measures for shipments, said Karabayev.
In addition, the minister said that the Head of State set the task to increase the volume of traffic via TITR by 5 times.
