KOREAN TRADE-INVESTMENT PROMOTION AGENCY OPENS ITS OFFICE IN BAKU
The Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) today has opened its office in Baku. 
Addressing the meeting, Vice President of KOTRA’s foreign investments department Mr. Kungsun Mihn and Korean Deputy Minister of Knowledge Economy Mr. Li Cey Hun underlined that founded in 1962, KOTRA has over 100 offices in foreign countries. The Company is aimed to promote the mutual cooperation between Korea and its trading partners by facilitating international commerce and investment, study the foreign market and search business-partners.
KOTRA’s Baku office will organize talks between the Azerbaijani and Korean businessmen and support Azerbaijani companies for participation in various exhibitions and conferences in Korea.
The participants noted that official visits of the Korean President Rho Moo-hyun to Azerbaijan in 2006 and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Korea in 2007 gave impetus to enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
Head of Azerbaijan Investment and Export Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Mr. Emil Majidov underlined that the commodity turnover between the two countries reached US $ 465 mln in 2007. Today, 14 companies of Korea have opened their offices in Baku, said Mr. Majidov. He also touched on close cooperation between AZPROMO and KOTRA.
Then, meeting participants familiarized themselves with KOTRA office.
Later, Vice President of KOTRA’s foreign investments department Mr. Kungsun Mihn and head of AZPROMO Mr. Emil Majidov held a press conference.
