LARGE SWIMMING COMPLEX WILL BE CONSTRUCTED IN BAKU, PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV
A large swimming complex will be constructed in Baku to increase the capital`s ability to host international tournaments, said Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev Thursday at a ceremony to discuss the National Olympic Committee’s work in 2007.
The President said there are no pools meeting modern world standards in Azerbaijan`s capital, and that the existing ones need complete reconstruction.
According to President Ilham Aliyev, the Ministry of Youth and Sports was already given relevant instructions.
The President stressed the new complex must meet the highest world standards and be able to host world championships and Olympic games.
