LEBANON FOR PEACEFUL SETTLEMENT OF NAGORNO KARABAKH CONFLICT
FM of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, being on a visit to the Near East countries, on 12 April arrived in Lebanon.
The same day, Mr. Mammadyarov met with his Lebanese counterpart Fawzi Sallukh to discuss prospects of the bilateral relations, establishment of embassies in the two countries and other questions.
Mr. Fawzi Sallukh expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support and humanitarian assistance rendered to Lebanon.
Mr. Mammadyarov updated in detail on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, stressing necessity of support of the friendly countries for peaceful settlement of the problem.
The Lebanese foreign minister said the country’s Armenian lobby has no any political influence on the developments. “My country supports peaceful settlement of the conflict on the base of international law”, he underlined.
The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on the processes ongoing in region.
The same day, FM Mammadyarov met with Lebanese MP Walid Jumblatt, to exchange views on political processes in region.
