Lithuania, Azerbaijan underline importance of experience exchange between election commissions

Baku, October 7 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Lithuania Zenonas Vaigauskas, who has arrived in Azerbaijan to observe the October 9 presidential elections, met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov.

Panahov briefed his counterpart on the future projects and progress achieved towards conduct of democratic, free and transparent elections in Azerbaijan, according to the Independent Press Center.

Vaigauskas thanked Panahov for inviting him to Baku. He hailed the progress achieved by the Central Election Commission towards the run-up to the elections.

The importance of experience exchange between the election commissions for the democratic, free and fair conduct of elections was underlined at the meeting.
