Luc Reinette: France has never been a legal state

Baku, June 25, AZERTAC

“France today does not acknowledge its colonial past and strives to preserve its prestige. France has brought great misfortune to Africa. Since the time of Napoleon, France has expanded its territories while establishing a system of slavery,” said Luc Reinette, founding member of the Global Reparations Movement and the Committee of the Black Peoples' Alliance, at the conference dedicated to Guadeloupe.

He added that France still refuses to apologize for its slavery and colonial policies: “France has never been a legal state.”
