Malena Mard: EU to expand relations with Azerbaijan on all fronts
Baku, April 2 (AZERTAC). “The European Union is determined to expand the relations with Azerbaijan on all fronts,” said the head of the EU mission in Azerbaijan Malena Mard has told a briefing on the report on the results achieved in the European Commission’s European Neighbourhood Policy countries.
“The European Union attaches great importance to Azerbaijan as an energy partner.”
She stressed the importance of the signing of the Shahdeniz-2 Final Investment Decision last December in Baku.
“We are well aware of the macroeconomic stability in Azerbaijan,” she added.
According to Mard, agreements to ease visa regime and on readmission signed between the EU and Azerbaijan will come into force this summer.
She praised the role of the ASAN service in combating corruption in Azerbaijan.
