MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF CIS HEADS OF GOVERNMENTS ENDED IN YALTA
The key debates revolved around interaction of the CIS member-states in economic sphere, in the field of politics, humanitarian cooperation, as well as financial maintenance of the CIS bodies. Participants of the meeting elected its president for the next year the Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich.
Participants of the Forum have signed a number of agreements on forming common power energy market of the CIS member-states, the complex joint measures of the Commonwealth states on prevention of bird-flue in the territory of CIS member countries, organization of the work of Inter-state Fund for humanitarian cooperation and others.
As the Chair of meeting, Premier of Tajikistan Akil Akilov told the news conference, in the Yalta Summit of Commonwealth in 2003, the leaders of countries worked out strategy of the Organization till 2010. Nevertheless, according to him, along with positive tendencies in activity of CIS, the reforms in Commonwealth are going slowly, there is no due activeness.
Chairman of the Russian Federation Government Mikhail Fradkov, in turn, emphasized that on the initiative of the Azerbaijan side, the Agreement on humanitarian cooperation was signed.
Next meeting of Council of heads of the CIS Governments will take place in Ashgabat.
In the evening 25 May, the delegation of Azerbaijan led by Premier Artur Rasizade returned home.
