Meetings of PACE`s two committees to be held in Paris
Baku, May 27 (AZERTAC). Head of Azerbaijan`s parliamentary delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov and MP Sabir Hajiyev will be visiting Paris on May 28-June 2 to attend meetings of the organization`s committees on Political Affairs and Democracy and Monitoring.
The meeting of the committee on Political Affairs will focus on a wide range of issues, including the crisis of democracy and the role of the state in today`s Europe, the rise of populist extremism in Europe and its dangers for democracy, the situation in Kosovo, activities of the European Bank for Research and Development, activities of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, political transition in Tunisia, counteraction to manifestations of neo-Nazism and xenophobia.
The meeting of the committee on Monitoring will feature reports on the progress of the Assembly’s monitoring procedure, fulfillment of obligations of Montenegro, Georgia, Monaco, Armenia, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia, Albania, Azerbaijan and Macedonia.
