MEHRIBAN ALIYEVA OPENS A NUMBER OF OBJECTS IN SABUNCHI AND AZIZBAYOV DISTRICTS
First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, who is also a President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, visited a kindergarten newly constructed at the initiative of the Foundation in Bilgah settlement of Sabunchi district of Baku.
The kindergarten for 80 children contains rooms for various groups of children, a dining room, bedrooms, teachers` room, laundry and other well-equipped facilities. During the summer holidays, it is being used by about 80 13-14 year old inmates of the Children`s Home No 2 deprived of parental care. The First Lady highly praised the work done, viewed an exhibition of children`s drawings and talked with children.
On same day, Mehriban Aliyeva cut the ribbon to open the Mardakyan Palace of Culture reconstructed at her own initiative. She expressed confidence the Palace would become one of the leading hearths of the Azerbaijani culture.
Mrs. Aliyeva toured the palace`s lobby, rooms, conference hall, lecture-room and dance hall, all supplied with up-to-date equipment. The Palace also has a library containing 10,000 books and capable to serve over 6,000 readers.
After that, the First Lady familiarized herself with the course of construction of a 1050-seat secondary school in Shuvalan 
settlement. The school being constructed under the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s “New School for Renewing Azerbaijan” program is to start operating in September this year. Mrs. Aliyeva gave recommendations on the design of the front of the building and rooms as well as facilities to be installed in the school.
In Zira settlement, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva was acquainted with new park complex, and the course of construction of an out-patients` clinic.
