NAPOLEON’S SOLDIERS BURIED 200 YEARS LATER
The rare funerals ceremony was held in Erfurt, Germany. The remains of 120 soldiers of Napoleon’s army were buried 200 years later in the cemetery of honors.
Archeologists discovered the remains of French who turned out to be under ground in the soldiers in the basement while conducting archeological digs. The specialists claim the remains belong to soldiers of Napoleon’s army died in Germany. According to the history, Napoleon Bonaparte also invaded the city Brul near Erfurt in 1806-1813. In 1813, French soldiers hastily retreating under the attack of German army left 120 badly wounded soldiers in the basement.
Representatives of German and French society, political and religious figures, and historians attended the funeral procession.
