NATIONS COME TOGETHER TO FIGHT DRUG TRAFFIC IN AFGHANISTAN
The concern is well grounded. Thus, the UN representative reported that Afghanistan is world’s leading country cultivating and trafficking illegitimate narcotic plants.
The Conference participants demanded to prepare the immediate anti-drug traffic program. On April 1, representatives of adjoining countries China, Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah signed an agreement on cooperation to prevent drug traffic. In compliance with the requirements of the agreement, Afghanistan is to be included into the “security belt” of bordering countries and frontier services of these countries is to seriously control the borders of Afghanistan. Police and intelligence services of acceding countries must get down to realization of the program on modernization of the criminal data system and collective trainings of law-enforcement bodies.
