NATO ‘interested’ in strengthening cyber security cooperation with Azerbaijan
Baku, April 11 (AZERTAC). NATO Assistant Secretary General Sorin Ducaru has expressed the Alliance`s interest in strengthening cyber security cooperation with Azerbaijan.
“NATO is interested in expanding opportunities for cooperation in strengthening cyber security with its partners, including Azerbaijan,” he told the country`s communications and high technologies minister Ali Abbasov.
Mr. Ducaru said NATO had Cooperative Cyber Defence Centres of Excellence in many countries, adding the Alliance wanted to share its experience with member and non-member countries to help them build national cyber security strategies.
Minister Abbasov welcomed NATO`s interest in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan, saying the country was ready to foster the partnership.
The Minister highlighted what had been done in Azerbaijan to tackle threats to cyber security. He said the establishment of the Electronic Security Center and Special State Agency for Communications and Information Security was one of the measures taken to ensure cyber security in the country.
“We are also cooperating with specialized international organizations and also use best foreign practices to create state-of-the-art DATA centers given the rapidly growing number of the Internet users in the country,” said Abbasov.
