NATO PA`s 68th ROSE-ROTH SEMINAR ENDS IN BAKU
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly`s 68th Rose-Roth seminar ended in Baku on Saturday.
The Seminar entitled “Security in the Caspian region” gathered over hundred representatives from more than 25 countries.
The seminar`s last day agenda included reports on political Islam, Islamic movements and the developing democracy and human rights in Central Asia.
Speakers at the seminar stressed the role of Islamic values in ensuring peace, stability and security across the world.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov, head of Azerbaijani delegation to NATO PA Ziyafat Asgarov and MP Malahat Asgarova spoke of religious tolerance in Azerbaijan.
The speakers noted it is unacceptable to associate terror acts being committed throughout the world with religions, including Islam.
Problems of countries in the Caspian and Central Asian regions were also discussed during the event, and participants stressed the importance of combining efforts towards providing international security and fighting against international threats.
The seminar participants expressed their gratitude to Azerbaijan`s government for high-level organization of the event.
After the seminar, its participants visited the Sangachal terminal.
Place and date for the next Rose-Roth seminar will be defined at the NATO PA`s session in Berlin this May.
