NEQSOL Holding and GILTEX announced as COP29 partners

Baku, September 20, AZERTAC

COP29 has announced two new official partners for the event in Baku. NEQSOL Holding has been announced as the Synergy Partner and GILTEX has been announced as the Textile Partner, highlighting both businesses’ commitment to sustainable practices and global climate goals.

NEQSOL Holding and GILTEX are actively participating in Azerbaijan's National Pledge Program, which is aimed at measuring their internal capabilities to achieve climate goals, develop their ESG strategies, and meet the requirements of partnership criteria. Through consultations and training sessions provided by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, these partners are working to enhance their competencies, optimize resource management, and contribute to the country's climate ambitions.

NEQSOL Holding has operations spanning the telecommunications, energy, technology, and construction industries. With over 12,000 employees across 11 countries including Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Türkiye, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the UAE, and others, it serves 25 million customers globally. COP29 offers NEQSOL Holding the opportunity to collaborate with global leaders, exchange knowledge, and discuss innovative solutions, enhancing the ability to contribute effectively to global climate change initiatives.

GILTEX, with operations in Azerbaijan and across the South Caucasus region, manufactures textiles using locally sourced Azerbaijani cotton in its spinning factory, two weaving factories, two dyeing factories, garment factory, and medical mask factory. As Textile Partner, GILTEX will help to collaborate on sustainability and environmental protection within the textile sector.

COP29 Partners will be using this opportunity to engage with global climate policies, highlight their ongoing efforts on sustainability and support the delivery of climate action in their key business areas. By partnering with COP29 in Baku, these businesses can demonstrate the critical role they play in advancing green policies and supporting the global community in keeping the 1.5C target within reach.

COP29 Partners will be joined in the Green Zone by businesses from around the world that have committed to this year’s Green Zone as exhibitors. Such businesses join a diverse mix of organizations that will showcase climate-friendly products and solutions.

Collectively they will contribute to making the Green Zone a space where all stakeholders will connect, share and learn to advance climate action. In addition to the leading global organizations that will showcase products and services, a full schedule of focused programmes will take place across the Green Zone, including presentations, networking events, workshops, briefings and music.

Other opportunities for businesses taking part include hosting their own events with access to conference booking facilities including theatre-style seating arrangements that maximize visibility and engagement. These will be complemented by a range of bilateral and multilateral meeting room formats, offering further opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing.

Commenting on the announcement of these latest COP29 partners, Chief Operating Officer for COP29 Azerbaijan Narmin Jarchalova said, "I would like to welcome NEQSOL Holding as Synergy Partner and GILTEX as Textile Partner of the Green Zone at COP29 in Azerbaijan. COP29 in Baku this year will be a crucial forum for negotiating global climate policies, promoting climate action, and enhancing international collaboration for a sustainable and resilient future. NEQSOL Holding and GILTEX will be instrumental in helping us achieve this goal at COP29, and we are eager to collaborate closely to drive impactful climate action.

Announcing their COP29 Partnership, Yusif Jabbarov, the CEO of NEQSOL Holding, commented, “Partnering with COP29 reflects NEQSOL Holding’s commitment to sustainability and climate action.
