NEW AZERBAIJAN PARTY ORGANIZES MARCH TO GUBA GRAVES
The New Azerbaijan Party organized a march to the graves in Guba region on April 24. Azerbaijanis killed by Armenians in the beginning of the 20th century lie in the graveyard.
The march gathered heads of the YAP executive secretariat, MPs, representatives of the Turkish embassy, Turkish TV channels accredited in Azerbaijan and local media.
Officer of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography Gahraman Agayev said that remains of human bodies were discovered during excavations connected with the construction on the right bank of Gudalchay river. It testifies about the mass killings. Preliminary investigation showed that these are the remnants of the local population killed in an attack on Guba carried out by the Armenian armed forces in 1918.
YAP executive secretary, Milli Majlis deputy Ali Ahmadov said the graveyard is the result of atrocities of Armenian dashnaks, and it proves the falsity of allegations on the “Armenian genocide». A. Ahmadov noted that an international commission to continue investigations will be set up with participation of foreign experts.
Milli Majlis deputy Yevda Ibramov said scientific researches were followed by discussions with Israeli deputies to put this issue onto the agenda of the Israeli Knesset. According to him, ambassadors are invited to the conference entitled “Tolerance in Azerbaijan and Life of Jews” scheduled for May by the embassy of Israel. During the visit, they will visit the graves. The documents on massacre committed by Armenians against Jews in the “Bloody ravine” have been submitted to the US Senate. According to Yevda Abramov, 14 more Jewish families were subjected to genocide. He pointed out that the documents indicate that Armenians killed 101 Jews during 1918 events.
A memorial complex will be erected at the burial place.
