NGOs reveal initial results of election monitoring
Baku, September 18 (AZERTAC). The NGO Cooperation Alliance has released the results of the first state of monitoring of presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
The first stage of the monitoring spanned the period between August 12 and September 12 and covered 40 regions.
Asked about which of presidential candidates do you trust most, 89.32 percent of respondents mentioned candidate of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev, 7.94 percent candidate of the National Council Jamil Hasanli, 0.91% Umid Party candidate Igbal Agazade, 0.55 percent indicated candidate of the United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev, 0.35 percent Justice Party candidate Ilyas Ismayilov, 0.31 percent candidate of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party Serdar Jalaloglu, 0.62 percent said they do not believe in other candidates.
The monitoring also revealed that YAP tops the list of preferred political parties with 8,932 people supporting its activity, 89.32%. The trust in this party comes from President Ilham Aliyev`s prestige. The Popular Front of Azerbaijan ranked second with 2.45 percent, Musavat third with 2.43 percent, Classic Popular Front Party with 1.31 percent.
The monitoring did not find any law violation. There were no restrictions on signature gathering campaign, registration of candidates. 94 percent of the respondents favored keeping the economic growth rates.
