NIKOLAY ZENKOVICH’S BOOK “HEYDAR ALIYEV. PATHS OF DESTINY” PRESENTED IN BAKU
On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s death, a presentation of the book “Heydar Aliyev. Paths of Destiny” by famous Russian historical researcher Nikolay Zenkovich took place Wednesday at the Hyatt Regency-Nakhchivan hotel. The event was attended by YAP leaders, Milli Majlis deputies, and representatives of other political parties.
Addressing the event, YAP Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary Ali Ahmadov, said that greater part of Azerbaijan’s history is connected to Heydar Aliyev’s name. According to him, such books play a great role in studying the Heydar Aliyev’s heritage. From this point of view, this book is very important as it allows Azerbaijani readership to apprehend what foreign writers think of Heydar Aliyev’s life and activity.
Speakers also included YAP Board members Irade Huseynova, Karim Karimov, translator of the book Rizvan Vahabov.
Author of the book Nikolay Zenkovich said that two million copies of books were published in Russian a year ago. The book has already been translated into English, French and Chinese.
He noted that Heydar Aliyev was replaced by his worthy successor President Ilham Aliyev who became one of the famous political figures in the world within short time.
