OSCE ‘must’ increase efforts to resolve Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
Baku, May 10 (AZERTAC). “The OSCE must increase its efforts to resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,’ said Chairman of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Azerbaijani President, MP Azay Guliyev as he met member of the German Bundestag, Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Doris Barnett.
Guliyev, who is also a bureau member of the OSCE PA, stressed the importance of building confidence between the Azerbaijani and Armenian communities in the Nagorno-Karabakh for determining the region’s future status and ensuring peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.
He proposed setting up a special group on Azerbaijan at the Bundestag, saying Germany is one of the main partners of Azerbaijan.
Barnett hailed Germany-Azerbaijan relations as friendly. She noted the role of parliaments in developing the bilateral relations.
Barnett welcomed Guliyev`s proposal, saying they will consider it.
She also touched upon the 23rd annual session of the OSCE PA to take place in Baku this year, saying Germany will send a delegation of 13 parliamentarians to the event.
