PACE STANDING COMMITTEE’S NEXT MEETING TO TAKE PLACE IN BELGRADE
The next meeting of the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will be held in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, May 23-25.
The meeting’s agenda includes the following issues: budgets of the Council of Europe for the financial year 2008, situation of the inhabitants of the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, capture of carbon dioxide as a means of fighting climate change, respect for the principle of gender equality in civil law, observation of the parliamentary elections in Armenia, and others.
Azerbaijan will be represented by deputy chairwoman of the Parliament’s standing committee on international relations and interparliamentary ties Gultakin Hajiyeva.
