Pakistan expels Indian High Commission staffer, declares him persona non grata

The Government of Pakistan has expelled a staff member of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, declaring him persona non grata for engaging in activities that violated diplomatic norms and misused his official privileges. The individual has been instructed to leave the country within 24 hours.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indian Chargé d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry and formally informed of the decision. The Ministry emphasized that no diplomat or staff member of the Indian High Commission should misuse their diplomatic status or privileges.
A spokesperson for the Ministry noted that the expelled official was found to be involved in activities incompatible with his diplomatic role.
This development comes shortly after India declared a staff member of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi persona non grata, also ordering that diplomat to leave within 24 hours.
