Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister holds meeting with Saudi Ambassador in Islamabad

Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malkiy, on Monday called on Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials discussed the full gamut of bilateral ties and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the already existing fraternal relations across all sectors.
Saudi Arabia played a key role in defusing the escalated situation in the region by sending the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, to New Delhi and Islamabad. Moreover, the Kingdom reiterated its support for resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means.
Earlier, on May 9, Saudi Arabian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad and urged de-escalation and peaceful dialogue amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India. The Minister called for restraint and a peaceful resolution of Pakistan-India disputes in line with international law.
The Saudi Arabian government welcomed the US-mediated ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, expressing hope that the development would pave the way for restoring security and stability in the region.
