Pakistan’s Parliamentary delegation arrives in Moscow

Speaker of the Pakistan’s National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq arrived in the Russian capital Moscow along with a six-member parliamentary delegation. He is visiting Moscow at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.
On his arrival, he was received at the airport by Vice Chairman of the Russian State Duma Alexander Babakov. Parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the lower house of the Pakistani parliament will begin a three-day visit to Russia on November 27 to strengthen relations between the two countries through enhanced inter-parliamentary contacts.
The visit at the invitation of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation is aimed at strengthening and expanding friendly relations between Pakistan and the Russian Federation through parliamentary diplomacy.
The parliamentary delegation is likely to hold meetings with the Chairman of the State Duma. Both the countries will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on expanding parliamentary cooperation and contacts between the Duma and the National Assembly of Pakistan.
The Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly will also hold bilateral meetings with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Alexei Overchuk. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz is also slated to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
These meetings will be instrumental in highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to boost ties with the Russian Federation. The Pakistani Parliamentary Delegation comprises Members of the National Assembly from different political parties.
