Presentation of the Mediterranean Excellence Award in Rabat

Yesterday in Rome, the Mediterranean Journalists Association awarded the Mediterranean Prize for Excellence to the President of the Rabat Community Council, Fatiha El Moudni, in recognition of the Moroccan capital's commitment to social and cultural integration.
According to the Maghreb Arab Press (MAP) agency, the ceremony to award this new prize to the city of Rabat was marked by the presence of the deputy head of mission at the Moroccan embassy in Rome, in addition to personalities from around the world, from politics, sports, culture, arts and the media from all over the Mediterranean.
In her speech on this occasion, Fatiha El Moudni stressed that this presentation is added to a series of awards that highlight the importance of the commitment of the capital of the Kingdom to common development and sustainability, and to building a more equitable, harmonious and global society that places the citizen at the heart of its strategy and preserves its resources and environment.
She added that this is a new cornerstone on the path to a global and sustainable future, thanks to the enlightened vision and high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who launched a number of initiatives and structured projects, including the integrated royal program. Rabat, the City of Light, the Cultural Capital of Morocco.
Fatiha El Moudni added that this program has contributed to instilling new social and economic dynamism, improving its attractiveness and strengthening its tourist character.
In this regard, she stressed that the city of Rabat has experienced, under the leadership of His Majesty the King of Morocco, a transformation embodied in its commitment to a green, inclusive and resilient urban environment.
It is worth noting that the city of Rabat had already won the United Nations Housing Programme Honorary Award for its innovative program, and was chosen by UNESCO as the World Book Capital for the year 2026.
