PRESIDENT ALIYEV CONGRATULATES ORTHODOX COMMUNITY OF AZERBAIJAN
President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan congratulated the Orthodox community of Azerbaijan on the Easter celebrations, wished each of them health and welfare. ``The world religions have been existed in Azerbaijan in mutual trust and tranquility for centuries and played great role in establishment of such human values as humanism, solidarity and tolerance among the people, formulation of strong ethnic-religious tolerance in society``, the message of congratulations says.
Noting special care and attention of the Azerbaijan state and government for national minorities, the President stresses importance of the maintenance of their languages and cultures, ethnic-cultural diversity and historical-traditional heritage.
``Every year``, the message says, ``the Orthodox community of Azerbaijan celebrates the sacred Easter, which embodies the feelings of mercy and compassion. On this sacred day, I wish you pleasure and luck. Happy Easter to everybody!``
