PRESIDENT ENDORSES STATE PROGRAM ON IMPROVEMENT OF OFFICIAL STATISTICS IN AZERBAIJAN
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today signed Executive Order on approval of the “State Program on Improvement of Official Statistics in the Azerbaijan Republic for 2008-2012”.
The measures stipulated in the frame of State Program, being the continuation of economic reforms, aim at improving provision of data on socio-economic development in the country, bringing the system of statistic parameters reflecting these reforms to the world standards and safeguarding the new statistic data characterizing integration of Azerbaijan to the world economy.
The State Program mainly envisions providing qualitative transformations in development of the system of statistics, technological modernization of this sphere, application of new IT and new methods in management and rise of its efficiency.
Implementation of these tasks will lead to modernization of statistic methodologies, obtaining accurate and scientifically substantiated data on socio-economic, demographic and ecological situation in Azerbaijan, and also meeting world statistic standards and enabling development of inter-department mutual exchange of statistic data. As a result, on the base of integration of all statistic data, the country’s common statistics data system will be created.
