PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ATTENDS OPENING OF OLYMPIC SPORTS COMPLEX IN MASALLY
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today has officially inaugurated the Olympic Sports Complex in the town of Masally.
Along with the President, attending the opening ceremony were President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey and his wife.
President Ilham Aliyev and the guests were warmly welcomed here by thousands of Masally residents holding up national flags of Azerbaijan and placards greeting the Head of State, and reading national leader Heydar Aliyev’s sayings.
The Complex built as part of the State Program of socio-economic development of regions, contains all necessary modern-standard sports facilities and infrastructure.
Additional 160-K-watt diesel generator and a 250-K-watt power conditioner were installed to ensure uninterrupted power supply of the object. Total area of the Complex is 3.5 hectares.
The Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee had provided 1.5 million manats for the project designed and implemented by the companies “S. Modus” and “El” respectively.
The Masally Olympic Sports Complex is the 11th one of this class in the country.
President Ilham Aliyev and Patrick Hickey viewed the complex and a friendly match between Masally and Jalilabad field hockey teams.
After that, they cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the Complex, and toured its facilities.
