PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV INAUGURATES WATER PIPELINE IN AGDASH
Agdash, February 12 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended an inauguration ceremony of a new water pipeline here as part of the Asian Development Bank-funded Urban water supply and sanitation project. Under the project, Agdash`s water supply and sanitation infrastructure will be completely improved.
The feasibility study for the project was prepared by the UK`s Scott Wilson company and ADB.
The facilities here will be least-cost and optimally sized, involving the construction of well fields, pipes, reservoirs, chlorination facilities, waste stabilization ponds, sewers, and sewerage pumping stations.
ADB will cover 75% of the project`s total cost while Government will contribute 25%.
A total of 35,000 people in Agdash will be provided with safe, reliable, and sustainable water supply services within 24 months.
President Ilham Aliyev pressed a button symbolizing the start of water supply.
He congratulated ceremony participants.
Academician Bakir Nabiyev thanked the Head of State on behalf of Agdash residents.
