PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES DELEGATION OP DAGESTAN
On April 30, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received visiting delegation of the Russian Federation’s Republic of Dagestan led by its President Mukhu Aliyev.The President expressed confidence that the visit of the Dagestani delegation will serve strengthening of ties between the two peoples.
“At the today’s stage of our peoples’ development, we need to cooperate in economic, security and humanitarian fields. It is very important that we have common position on all issues,” he said.
“We are devoted to our deep-rooted brotherhood with Dagestan. As an independent state, Azerbaijan is now effectively building its relations with Russia on the basis of good neighborliness and friendship,” Ilham Aliyev added.
President of Dagestan thanked the Azerbaijani leader for inviting them to Azerbaijan and hospitality. “Aliyev family is held in special respect in Dagestan,” he said recalling Aziz Aliyev, who was working as head of Dagestan during the Great Patriotic War. Mukhu Aliyev noted that despite the severe years of war when Caucasus was under the threat of occupation, it was thanks to Aziz Aliyev that first theaters and scientific centers were constructed, and other important work was done in Dagestan.
President of Azerbaijan and members of the Dagestani delegation also exchanged views on all aspects of Azerbaijan-Dagestan cooperation.
