PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN FAMILIARIZES HIMSELF WITH NEWLY PURCHASED AMBULANCES OF HEALTH MINISTRY

Under the Presidential Executive Order “On urgent measures for improvement of medical aid services”, February 20, 2007, 150 Mercedes ambulances and other medical equipment were purchased from Germany. As is known, 12 million AZN had been allotted for this purpose. Of them, 121 are Mercedes, 10 are Sprinters equipped with USM devices, 16 Sprinters, 2 of which are equipped with pediatric saloon, 1 mobile-stationary ambulance. Also purchased was digital “TETRA” and GRPS contact and moto-location systems and special set of clothes and medicine.
Last year, the number of the first aid calls made up 1 million 169 thousands, 378 of which were made in Baku. This year, there have been 1 million 65 thousands and 330 thousands first aid calls respectively.
The President familiarized himself with technical specifications of the ambulances and their equipment.
