PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVED AMBASSADOR OF UKRAINE
The Head of Azerbaijan highly appreciated Mr. Aleksenko’s activities in an Ambassador capacity and thanked him for the contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. The President also mentioned the Ambassador’s great services in the development of industrial sector in Azerbaijan during his pre-diplomatic activity.
Then, the Azerbaijani leader conferred the “Glory” Order upon the Ambassador for his contributions to development of friendly relations and strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan Republic.
Ambassador Boris Aleksenko expressed deep gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev for the high assessment of his activity, and described it as a symbol of the friendly relationship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, whose foundation had been laid by outstanding statesman and political figure, nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.
Touching on the Azerbaijan-Ukraine relations, the Ambassador noted that the state visits by President Heydar Aliyev in 1997 and President Ilham Aliyev this year to Ukraine had become the important milestones in the history of bilateral links.
According to the Ambassador, Ukraine is closely watching socio-economic reforms implemented in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He expressed confidence that all of these processes would serve further improvement of Azerbaijani people’s welfare.
Especially stressing the attention given by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma to the activity of the diplomatic mission, the Ukrainian diplomat, finally, handed a gratifying letter over to President Ilham Aliyev.
