President of France Jacques Chirak has arrived in New York to take part at the session of the UN General Assembly to start on 20 September. The event is to be attended by UN Secretary General Koffi Annan, presidents of France, Spain, Brazil, and Chile and heads of states and ministers from 50 other world countries, AzerTAj Agency said.

This action is continuation of the “Movement against hunger and poverty” initiated at the January 2004 meeting of Koffi Annan in Geneva with the presidents of France, Brazil and Chile. Later and Spain has joined them.

Currently, according to experienced economists, examining the ways of elimination of these problems seriously concerning the world, there are three major sources of financing fighting poverty: assistance social development, reduction of debts and development of international trade.

Though there was reached notable progress in this, solution of the problems needs enough colossal means. For this purpose, it needs 50 billion US dollars, the World Bank said.

At the meeting with the UN Secretary General with the presidents of France, Spain, Brazil and Chile the parties will have exchange of view on ways of obtaining these means.
