PRESIDENTIAL PRESS SERVICE REPORTS
Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, today phoned to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and congratulated him on birthday, noting that "for years of your stay on the post of head of the state, Azerbaijan has essentially moved on the way of economic development, strengthening its reputation on the international community", the press service of the Kremlin said.
In telephone conversation, "the head of the states have assessed the reached level of diverse Russian-Azerbaijan interaction, having expressed confidence for its further development".
The Presidents have exchanged congratulations to people of Russia and Azerbaijan on the coming New Year.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin sent to Ilham Aliyev congratulatory message on the occasion of his birthday.
The congratulatory message runs: "We deservedly estimate that among your priorities is fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia, important role in deepening of which have played also the good personal relations established between us. I am convinced that the further expansion of effective Russian-Azerbaijan interaction in political, economic and humanitarian spheres is equitable to interests of our people, for the blessing of peace and stability on the Caucasus".
