PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND KOREA MEET IN PRESENCE OF DELEGATIONS
Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Roh Moo-hyun of South Korea held talks in the presence of the two countries’ delegations.The Korean leader recalled his last year’s visit to Azerbaijan. He described this visit by President Ilham Aliyev to the Republic of Korea as a good opportunity to lift bilateral relations up to a new level.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked the Korean leadership for hospitality, and stressed that over the short period since President Roh Moo-hyun’s visit to Azerbaijan, relations between the two countries have been developed in various fields reaching a newer stage.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction with ongoing work on joint projects in communications, transport, energy, agriculture, education, culture and other fields, and underlined the importance of development of cooperation in non-oil sector.
The Korean side expressed willingness of local businessmen to intensify cooperation with Azerbaijan, with intention to make serious investments in various sectors of the country’s economy.
The parties also discussed other aspects of Azerbaijan-South Korea relations.
