Qatari Embassy in Azerbaijan marks country`s national holiday
Baku, December 23 (AZERTAC). The Embassy of Qatar in Azerbaijan has organized an official reception to mark the country`s national holiday.
Opening the event, ambassador Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Jassem Al Thani spoke about the country`s development path, and said his country goes through a period of political, economic and cultural changes.
The diplomat hailed development of relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar. He noted friendly relations between Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani contribute to enhancing bilateral relationship even further.
Al Thani expressed confidence that the Azerbaijan-Qatar ties would continue to develop in the fields of economy, culture and education.
The ambassador also congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year.
Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov congratulated the people of Qatar on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.
The Minister said President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Doha and Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani`s trip to Baku gave impetus to expansion of the friendly ties founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Abbasov expressed confidence that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar would continue to strengthen and deepen.
The event was attended by Azerbaijani state and government officials, MPs, ambassadors, as well as public figures.
