The residence of the Nobel Brothers in Baku, the Villa Petolea today was opened after reconstruction.

Construction works were financed by the Baku Nobel Heritage Foundation.

The opening ceremony was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov, Vice-Speaker of Milli Majlis Valeh Alaskarov, industry and energy minister Natig Aliyev, Mayor of Baku Hajibala Abutalibov, Swedish guests especially arrived to take part at the ceremony, and members of the Nobel Brothers family dynasty and others.

Togrul Bagirov, Chairman of the Baku Nobel Heritage Foundation spoke of the history of the Residence.

Minister of culture and tourism Abulfaz Garayev, Swedish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hans Gunner Adan and others estimated the event as a start of a new phase in Azerbaijani-Swedish relations.

Dr. Michael Nobel, Chairman of the Nobel Charitable Trust Foundation spoke of importance of this remarkable event, expressing gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan for support rendered in construction of the residence.
