Round table on energy security of Europe held at Brookings Institute
Washington, September 29 (AZERTAC). The Brookings Institute held a round table discussion on the Energy Security of Europe. Experts on the issues of energy and economics of the Caspian Strategy Institute Efgan Niftiyev and Ibrahim Palaz delivered remarks. The importance of the Southern Gas Corridor for the Caspian region and Europe was underlined. The speakers noted that the Southern Corridor is the most reliable alternative for the continuous energy security of Europe. The event which was moderated by Kemal Kirishchi from the Brookings Institute, was attended by the Head of the Representative office of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rauf Mammadov, representative of Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) project Magsud Mammadov, the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Caspian Strategy Institute Bulent Aras and the Coordinator for Academic Issues Emin Akhundzade and representatives of Statoil, Central Asia Caucasus Institute, AFAZ, Goldwyn Global Strategies, and Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
