FM of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov in the frame of his visit to Moscow has met with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Elmar Mammadyarov, in particularly, stated that a great number of issues of mutual interest have been discussed and they have exchanged views on the regional problems, as well as questions of mutual interaction on the international organizations. Mr. Mammadyarov noted that it is necessary to continue intensive cooperation between two countries.

Te Minister also said that in the frame of discussions on regional issues, focused was also the Russian-Georgian relations. “Azerbaijan’s position is that we must solve this problem by diplomatic means, and this is the only way that may lead out of situation in which we are today.

We propose that it is necessary to overcome those difficulties, which have occurred in the Russian-Georgian bilateral relations. I think that the Russian side also comprehends this”, he said. Mr. Mammadyarov also noted that the tension affects the whole region.
