Scientific CONFERENCE ON GENOCIDE OF AZERBAIJANIS
LSU professor, doctor of historical sciences Tofig Mustafayev delivered a report entitled “Genocide of Azerbaijanis committed by Armenians and its historical roots”, LSU lecturer Haji Hasanov – “Deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia in 1948-1953”, Mirhashim Talishli – “Genocide events in Lankaran”.
Over 200 hundred years, the Armenian nationalists pursued the policy of genocide against Azerbaijanis. As a result, thousands of Azerbaijanis were exiled from their homelands and subjected to humiliation, pressure etc.
The Khojaly tragedy of February 1992 turned into the brutal action that would remain in the history as a terrible act of genocide. Lingering around the barbarism of Armenian chauvinists who intended to establish “Great Armenia” from sea to sea, the speakers noted that the policy of genocide was recognized politically and legally due to inestimable efforts of Heydar Aliyev.
Conference participants familiarized themselves with the exhibition of books and photo exposition demonstrated in scientific library.
