“SHAHDENIZ” TURNS AZERBAIJAN INTO GAS EXPORTER

According to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, gas transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum pipeline will begin within short time. Tests have already been completed in the Turkish section of the pipeline.

Shahdeniz field is expected to produce 5.72 bln cubic metes of gas this year, 8.5 billion in 2008 and 9.8 billion in 2010.
