SIDES DISCUSS DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN AND VOLOGODSKAYA OBLAST OF RUSSIA
On April 12, the delegation led by Azerbaijan`s Consul General to St. Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov visited Vologodskaya oblast of Russia to discuss some questions resulting from the appropriate decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
G. Osmanov met N. Vinogradov, the first deputy governor of the oblast. Discussing the issues regarding expansion of ties between Azerbaijan and Vologodskaya oblast in economical, cultural and other fields, Azerbaijan`s Council General talked of measures directed to the settlement of problems of about 6 thousand Azerbaijanis in the oblast.
The sides agreed on conducting Azerbaijan days in the region in 2008.
The Azerbaijani Council General also met N. Tikhinox, chairman of the Legislative Council of the oblast. Deputies of parties which are represented in the council took part at the meeting.
G. Osmanov briefed the processes going in political, economical, cultural and other spheres of Azerbaijan.
Participants of the meeting reviewed some questions of common interest.
At his meeting with B. Kotov, head of Federal Migration Service of the Vologodskaya oblast, G.Osmanov disscussed the urgent question related to migration.
