SITTING OF INTERSTATE COUNCIL OF EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION TAKES PLACE
The ninth sitting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Union at the heads of government’s level was completed in Almaty, AzerTAj correspondent reports. The Union members - Kazakhstan, Russia, Kirghizstan, Belarus and Tajikistan exchanged views on issues of energy and customs tariffs, economic situation of these countries, trade development, establishment of a common system of payments etc.
The sitting participants decided to establish a single economic area among Union member states until 2006. They also discussed the issue of their membership in the World Trade Organization (Kazakhstan is already a WTO member)
