SOCAR begins supplying Azerbaijani gas to Austria and Germany
Baku, January 16, AZERTAC
SOCAR has entered a new important stage in Azerbaijan’s gas exports by selling significant volumes of gas to the markets of Southern and Central Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the European segment of the Southern Gas Corridor. Thus, starting from January 2026, Azerbaijani gas will be supplied, among others, to buyers in Austria and Germany.
The supply of Azerbaijani gas to Austria and Germany via Italy further expands its geographical reach across Europe. As a result, the number of countries purchasing Azerbaijani gas has reached 16.
In line with the gas strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, SOCAR continues to consistently expand its gas marketing activities across Europe and the Middle East, broaden its portfolio of cooperation with buyers from various countries, and further strengthen Azerbaijan’s position as a reliable energy supplier.
