SOCAR PUTS INTO COMMISSION “BLACK SEA TERMINAL” IN GEORGIA
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) put into commission the “Black Sea terminal” in Kulevi region of Georgia, on Friday.
The event brought together Azerbaijani Premier Mr. Arthur Rasizade, President of Georgia Mr. Mikhail Saakashvili, Georgian Premier Mr. Vladimir Gurgenidze, head of SOCAR Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev and other officials.
About 10 mln tons of oil products will be transported per year via the terminal. The capacity of the oil storage facility of Kulevi terminal is 320 thousand cbm. The 14-km railroad connecting central trunk-railway Tbilisi-Poti-Kulevi was constructed. The dry-cargo and liquefied gas terminals are also planned to be constructed. Over 62500 people participated in implementation of the project.
SOCAR is founder of “SOCAR Energy Georgia” Company. SOCAR invested over US $ 380 mln in Georgia.
