South Korea hosts World Information and Communications Summit

Baku, May 11 (AZERTAC). The 7th World Information and Communications Summit (WICS) under the motto “Smart Society and Mobile Revolution” has started today in Seoul, South Korea.

Azerbaijan is represented at the event by Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Velizade.

The summit participants are discussing policies for the future of telecommunications and new technologies. Representatives of countries from all over the world are taking advantage to share their experience and views and discover new opportunities in today`s rapidly evolving digital environment.

Elmir Velizade will speak at the event with a presentation on the development of information technologies in Azerbaijan.

The summit participants will become familiar with the expositions of World IT Show 2011 - the largest exhibition of information technologies in South Korea.

The topics of this year`s exhibition include wireless communications, broadband networks, network technologies, local and corporate networks, LAN / WAN and wireless LAN technologies.
