Spain set to declare regions worst hit by floods “seriously affected”

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced last weekend that the executive branch intends to declare "disaster zones" the areas seriously affected by the devastating floods that hit the southeast of the country.
The correspondent of the AZERTAC Agency reports that, after chairing the crisis committee responsible for monitoring the consequences of the disaster, Sanchez said in an official statement: "The government will agree, at the Council of Ministers scheduled for tomorrow, to declare the most vulnerable areas affected by "Dana", as "seriously affected" areas within the framework of the state of emergency of civil protection."
He added that the case concerns the regions of Valencia, Castile-La Mancha, Andalusia, Catalonia and Aragon.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the bad weather conditions that occurred during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday had "caused the greatest natural disaster in the modern history of our country."
