Star oil refinery to be commissioned in April 2018

SOCAR's Star Oil Refinery in Turkey is expected to be fully commissioned in April 2018, Director General of the refinery Ibrahim Palaz has said.
“The plant has already started to hire new workers, and the personnel training is in progress. At present, more than 100 companies operate in the territory of Star of oil refinery.”
Palaz said the refinery will process an estimated 10 million tons of crude oil per year and is expected to considerably reduce Turkey’s dependence on foreign energy imports. “The plant will completely cut Turkey's naphtha imports. Overall, it is expected to cut Turkey`s imports worth $ 2.5 billion,” he added.
