The results of the first half of 2003 and upcoming tasks were discussed last week at the session of the colleague of the State Committee of Construction and Architecture.

The further strengthening of public and political stability in the country, further social and economic development, its material basis is of great importance in present conditions. Construction and investment activities are very important in this concern.

The total cost of works done by the Committee, services and output comes to over 22,2 billion manats exceeded the data of the same period of 2002 by 22,4 percent. During this period scientific works done in the Committee increased by 4,5, repairing and construction works - by 47,5, public utilities - by 21,3 percent.

Some 99 artesian wells, 35 water reservoirs, about 50 km of water pipelines have been repaired for preservation and development of water and sewerage objects, restoration of water and sewerage networks, gone out of operation as a result of natural calamity.

Majority of Committee’s organizations and enterprises completed 6 months period with incomes, profitability in the Committee came to 7,2 percent. It influenced positively the improvement of social conditions of employees and salary rise.

The participants of the session spoke on shortcomings at the enterprises and gave special assignments on their elimination.
